Lumi Language is German for the Anmeldung, lunch chat in Berlin, or a month in Vienna. Cases and gendered articles are explained in the exercise when they trip you up — not as a grammar book you have to finish before you speak to a landlady.

Questions
Do I need to know cases before I start?
No. You will meet them on real phrases (zum Essen, die Meldebescheinigung). When an ending is the whole point of a card, ask why in the exercise.
Is this German for Germany or Austria?
Say where you are going. Berlin and Vienna are different enough that the generator should hear it. The default path is standard German.
Will this help with the Anmeldung?
If you put that in the goal, yes — that is a specific situation with a small, useful vocabulary, which is exactly what the generator is for.
How is this different from a grammar course?
You practise sentences you will say, then ask about the grammar that showed up. You do not delay speaking until you have finished a chapter on the dative.
