Learn Russian
Learn Russian built for you
Lumi Language is Russian for stand-ups with a Moscow team, a winter in St Petersburg, or reading slowly in the original. Cyrillic comes with a romanisation on every word, so you are not stuck staring at a script you cannot type.
Not “Russian, beginner” — “starting a job with a Moscow team in spring — I need to run stand-ups and read their documentation”.
Stand-up and documentation phrases before colours and farm animals.
First-month Russian phrases
- Housing — Viewing a flat, asking what is included, agreeing a date.
- Town hall — Registering, asking where to queue, the document they will ask for.
- Doctor — Booking, saying where it hurts, understanding the next step.
- Neighbours — The first hello in the stairwell, and the first small ask.
Longer: what to say for миграционный учёт · what to say at a Moscow flat viewing.
Questions
Do I need to know Cyrillic first?
You will see it from the first card, with a romanisation beside it. The character picker is there when a lesson asks you to type Russian; Latin letters are accepted on generated words too.
Is the audio Russian from Russia?
Yes — the committed clips are ru-RU. A goal with a Moscow team and a goal in St Petersburg will differ in situation, not in a different standard language.
Cases look impossible. Will I be blocked?
You meet them on phrases you need (на обед, вчера). Ask why an ending changed; do not wait until you have memorised six charts.
Can this help me read literature?
If that is the goal, the generated course can start with slower, written Russian. Fluency in Tolstoy is not a five-unit promise; a reading habit is a fair one.
